Describe...Required. This is the title of the book, article, video, announcement, event, newsfeed, newsletter, organization, website, etc. Don't include the "subtitle," put that in the next field.
Describe...If there is one, put the subtitle here.
Describe...Required. Put the primary author's name here. If an article or video is an interview, put the interviewee's name here. If there is no author, put the publication or website's name here. If the author is imprtant, you can request a tag be created for the author.
Describe...If there is more than one author, list them here. If an article or video is an interview, put the interviewer's name here.
Describe...Required. Enter the publish date for the book, article, or video. Tip: if the date is many years in the past, click on the calendar icon, select any date, then edit the date in the field. You might need to "dig" to find the actual date. For a book, you could go to a site that sells the book to get the publish date. For temporary posts, such as events or announcements, put in a future publish date that has the desired "lead-time" before the event. If you cannot find the date for this item, enter the date you saw it.
Describe...Date when you saw the item. This could also be the date when the item was archived. See the "Archive Link" field.
Describe...Only define this for temporary posts, such as events, announcements, or current news. Usually, the date would be a day or two after the event.
Describe...Name of the publisher or organization that published or sponsored the book, article, or video. For example, the name of the publisher, producer, organization, website, publication, newspaper, magazine, YouTube channel, etc. You might need to "dig" to find the publisher. For a book, you could go to a site that sells the book.
Describe...Put the first name and last name initial of the person who recommended this post. This is optional, but it follows the "Guidelines for Posts" that most of these posts are individual recommendations not official IPV statements.
Describe...This is the main link to an item that this post is about. Other links can be added to the post's content. Article or URL: Link for the article or item. Book: link to where the book can be bought. Independent seller or Amazon link. Amazon and other website links can be simplified. See How to make links that last
Describe...Web pages can disappear or be changed, so use the WaybackMachine to get or make an Internet Archive link. Pick a link with a date closest to the publish date or the Date Seen. If a web page is behind a "paywall," see the How to make links that last page for how to make a copy that anyone can view.
Describe...Required. This is the main post content. Use Visual mode to cut/paste text, images, and links from other sites. Please do not cut/paste whole articles; use Link and Archive Link to point to a complete article. Of course, full original articles or announcements can be posted here, but this form is mainly for references to other items. You can include text with links to reviews, author interviews, videos, and other related items. Or, if those items are important on their own, you can make them their own post. Optionally, you can save the editor's time by making them "proper" links with a title for the URL. You can include video links (which will be expanded to embedded videos, if YouTube or Vimeo). Put the Title of the video before the link. And put the link on the next line. The item's "main" image is usually put at the top. You can cut/paste the image from anywhere, or you can upload images. See the "Images" field below. This content is a rough draft for the post. If you see things that might need fixing, such as missing Tags or Categories, leave a "Note to the editor."
Describe...Required. At least one category must be selected. Select all the media types that are in this post. If you look at the left panel, you can see the categories that have been used by other posts. The complete list of categories can be found at Categories and Tags/ If you need help with the categories, see the Using AI to Categorize Articles and Books page.

Describe...Click the "Browse" button to upload an image. Only select one from your local disc. If you cannot figure out how to get an image for the article downloaded to your computer, were you able to cut/paste the image into the content area? Leave a "Note to Editor" about any image problems. The first uploaded image will be used as the post's "feature image." The feature image should have an aspect ratio of 4:3 or 16:9. If you want to "pad" images to fit, see the Sizing Graphics/ page for help. If you don't want to resize images, that is OK, the editor can fix the images. If you have more than one image (or a file), use the "Add another file" link.
Describe...You can leave notes to the editor here. For example, missing images, categories or tags you would like for this post.
