Sizing Graphics

This is optional for draft posts; the editors can make these fixes.

The feature image should have an aspect ratio of

  • 4:3 (4 units wide by 3 units high, i.e. a wide rectangle). For example, 600×450 (600 / 4 * 3)
  • Or a 16:9 ratio is also OK. For example, 600×337 (600 / 16 * 9)

If you know a graphics program you can use that to scale and crop the image.

  • Make a white rectangle that has a 4:3 or 16:9 ratio. For example 4inch x 3inch
  • Import the image, and resize it (preserving its aspect ratio) so that its width or height just fits in the rectangle. Place the image at the bottom left of the rectangle.
  • Save the image. And use that for the feature image upload.

If don’t know a or graphics program or want a simpler way, go to this webpage: https://imagy.app/image-aspect-ratio-changer/

  • Select or change the desired aspect ratio to be 4:3 or 16:9
  • Import the image.
  • Scale the image to fit in the bottom left of the rectangle outline. You might need to zoom in or out to get all of the rectangle and image to be visible.
  • Save the image and use that for the feature image upload.
